The Library

I like to collect resources, here is where I'll share them with you. More organization to come, but for now check out:

• Stitch Maps is a cool alternative way to visualize knitting charts to preview how the actual fabric will flow (with lace or cables, for example). It has paid features, but playing around in-browser is what I like to do, and that's free.
• GeometriQuilt is a quilt designer I admire who does little designs every week.
• Sedentary Dances is a zine full of poetry games to play with yourself or other people. 7.50$, or community copies available.
• Tom 7 is an academic-creative inspiration of mine. Of interest are how to have fun at chess when you're bad at chess and ancient fonts. (My navigation bar font is one of these right now.)
• Zine Machine Tool to make normal-looking web pages that print as a zine.
• Open source, experimental, and tiny tools roundup A huge directory with a lot of fun hidden gems and powerful tools for all kinds of creative endeavors.
• IndestructibleType has some fancy-pants fonts I'm curious about playing around with.
• The League of Movable Type has some more cool fonts. These are open-source.
• MathPolate graph paper is a free graph paper generator with a huge amount of options including equilateral and hexagonal dot paper. I use it to customize English paper piecing templates. Uncheck "Enable Premium Features" to download without paying.
• String Geekery embeds codes into knitting designs. They also have resources to learn more about fiber art codes and a great inventory of knitting stitch structure diagrams, without needles getting in the way.
• How to turn pdfs into printable booklets quickly, and on the command line. The author also has some very cool zines: Imaginary Landscapes and Shadows
